Dan Willson (who you may know better as the frontman of WITHERED HAND) shares his love of omelettes, Monster Munch and real ale while on the road. . .

What time is breakfast? As near to when I wake up as possible, or I turn into a monster.

Tea or coffee?

Real coffee, or herbal tea if in the company of ladies. Smoking or non-smoking?

Non-smoking please.

Sweet or savoury snacks? Savoury weekdays, sweet on the weekend.

What food do you miss when you tour?

Vegetables and home cooking. Who’s the best cook you know?

My daughter makes a mean omelette. What’s on your rider?

Seriously? When I remember . . . fruit, real ale, water, Monster Munch. Which country/ city has the best food?

California was an eye-opener. The land of plenty and everything so fresh. I’d need more tummies to live there. Do you eat out a lot?

Not as often as I’d like, I mostly go to the same three or four Edinburgh restaurants. Do you eat or drink onstage?

I mostly drink water. Being drunk and falling offstage? I tried that for a year or two, it wasn’t fun. Withered Hand plays Pilrig St Paul’s Church, Edinburgh, Thu 30 Jun, with Darren Hayman and Gordon McIntyre. See page 90 for more info.
