An exhibition of posters, borrowed from the Hiroshima Memorial Peace Museum and relating to the story of Sadako, a young girl who developed leukaemia as a result of the atomic bomb but inspired many with her efforts to fold a thousand paper cranes in the hope of having her wish for health come true. Tom Leonard at Poetry @ the Ivory The elder statesman of Glasgow letters reads from his work and discusses his life and poetry. At £2, this is a steal of an event, and we recommend nay, demand that you attend. The Ivory, Camphill Ave, Shawlands, Wed 10 Aug, 7pm.

Gorbals Growers Launch Party Garden party to celebrate the launch of the Gorbals Growers, a volunteer-run community gardening project.
