Karnival

Starting the 2012 party early Karnival celebrate their sixth birthday. ‘Our first ever guest was Graeme Park,’ explains Karnival’s promoter Kev Hendry. ‘I was mega nervous as I had grown up listening to Graeme’s Hacienda mix tapes in the 90s, so he was a bit of a legend to me. To be honest I still get nervous even now. I think the moment I stop getting the pre-gig butterflies will be the time my hearts not in it anymore, but that day is a long way off.’ Since then they’ve been joined by likes of Digitalism, Andrew Weatherall and Paul Woolford while French minimalist/electro producer Popof (Turbo/Cocoon/Form) will be joining them for these birthday celebrations.
