This Los Angelite duo (Rob Barber and Mary Pearson) get the inspiration for their electronic pop from the colours and landscapes of places they’ve visited in the past few years. So the Northern Mexican desert, the plants of the Australian outback or the turquoisey waters of the Indian Ocean have all been known to trigger a bout of creativity, which then gets translated into visuals and music. Check out hellohighplaces.blogspot.com for an idea of their sun-drenched but driving pop. Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh, Wed 15 Feb; The Arches, Glasgow, Thu 16 Feb.
