Jamie Stewart, the puppet master behind Xiu Xiu, has been tirelessly plugging away in the world of avant-garde for the past decade. Whilst there some are left flummoxed by his distinctive sound, there exists a hoard of devoted followers who can’t get enough of his genre hopping electro. New record Always is produced by Deerhood’s Greg Saunier and features the expected no-holds-barred lyrics that have become associated with Stewart, covering everything from lady objectification to family tragedy, always keeping to the dark side. Captain’s Rest, Glasgow, Wed 14 Mar.
