You may know this young artist because he’s been rapping with hip- hop group ‘The Pack’ since he was 16. You may also know him by another name; he also answers to The Based God, Lil Boss, Based Lord, Captain 66, Based Legend and Pretty Bitch. Now the rapper-turned-author, producer, composer and director is

known as Brandon ‘Lil B’ McCartney, and has a successful solo career evolving in large part due to his online presence (he has uploaded over 1,500 tracks to various MySpace accounts, and shares his mixes for free) and is now signed with Amalgam Digital.

Rapping about race relations, poverty and justice, he titled his latest album I’m Gay (a move apparently designed to show his support of the LGBT community Lil B is straight) then received several death threats, so added (I’m Happy) after the title. Nice ’n’ Sleazy’s , Glasgow, Sun 6 May.
