BigPicture WE ARE EXTINKED Programmed to coincide with Scottish Biodiversity Week, this exhibition, by Manchester-based arts collective Ultimate Holding Company, is a unique fusion of drawing, photography, ecology . . . and tattoo art. We Are Extinked was inaugurated in 2009 to mark the bicentennial of Charles Darwin’s birth with the creation of 100 pen and ink drawings of rare or endangered species by artist Jai Redman. Following an open-air exhibition of the work, 100 ‘ambassadors’ were selected and tattooed with their preferred species. The results are now being brought together for the first time in Scotland at the Royal Botanic Gardens’ John Hope Gateway. ■ Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, until Sun 29 Jul.
