OUR PERFORMANCES AREN’T ONLY PLAYED OUT IN THEATRES . . . This July, experience an enchanting programme of outdoor theatre set against Scotland’s most impressive backdrops. Culzean Castle hosts Oscar Wilde’s classic satire, The Importance of Being Earnest (4 June - 10 July), as well as Sleeping Beauty (4 June - 11 July). The Festival Players promise slick productions of both Twelfth Night, Hill of Tarvit (Cupar, 7 July) and Richard III, Newhailes House ailes House (East Lothian, 29 July) which will also stage Heartbreak Productions’ award- ward- winning adaptation of E.Nesbit’s The Railway Children (14 July). Enter a secretive world of sculpture gardens and hidden artworks in unexpected places. Jupiter Artland in the grounds of Bonnington House, Edinburgh is a work-in-progress where you will always discover new art; and beneath the Pentland Hills nd Little Sparta, a sculpture garden n created by Scottish artist and writer Ian Hamilton Finlay. Head out of the city to Cairnhead, Dumfries & Galloway where Andy Goldworthy’s red sandstone Striding Arches crown the land. Sculpture lovers will also enjoy Tyrebagger Wood, d, Aberdeenshire.
