21 JUN-19 JUL YOU’VE GOT 29 DAYS TO LIVE! Early June brought biblical rain. And with it, a strong urge to stay indoors and O.D. on films. So, not bad timing then for the Edinburgh International Film Festival to show up again. We set up a chat between newly appointed artistic director, Chris Fujiwara, and the person who used to be in his shoes, Hannah McGill (page 30), to discuss this year’s programme, and examined the merits of Disney’s grimier take on a fairytale princess, Brave (page 32). On a similar theme, we encouraged some nostalgia between Gregory’s Girl fanboy Aidan Moffat and the soundtrack composer, Colin Tully (page 88) before he performs the score as part of the Glasgow Jazz Festival. And for the more outdoorsy, dancing-in-a- field type, we’ve also got chats with Orbital and Major Lazer before they play T in the Park (page 22).
