Tahrir: Liberation Square CHOSEN BY VINCENT GUERIN, DIRECTOR OF L’INSTITUT FRANÇAIS

You may think you have already read too many articles, seen too many photographs and videos about the Arab Spring. But Tahrir: Liberation Square by Sicilian filmmaker Stefano Savona is not just another documentary film about the Egyptian revolution. It is a genuine masterpiece of cinema created during one of the most important moments in recent history. Shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II, Savona showed us he was as talented with his previous films dedicated to Kurdistan (Notes from a Kurdish Rebel, 2006) and Gaza (Cast Lead, 2009). Do not miss Tahrir: Liberation Square at EIFF 2012. Tahrir: Liberation Square screens as part of the EIFF at Cineworld, Edinburgh, Fri 22 Jun & Sun 24 Jun. Vincent is programming Fete de la Musique, Institut Français, Edinburgh, Thu 21 Jun.
