■ The Olympic Games come to a close this Sunday, taking with them all the
ping pong, weightlifting, gymnastics and canoe slaloming drama from your life for another four years. But Welcome Home

■ On a sporting theme, Glasgow- based online shop, Think Boutique

■ There are still a few more weeks to catch Fruit Salad, a group show to celebrate the launch of a publication of the same name
by the Glasgow/London imprint Bronze Age. The exhibition includes multi-media works by eight artists, including French graphic designer Lola Halifa-Legrand
(pictured, left), Australian painter Jennifer Mehigan and Texan visual artist Shane

■ Continuing their series of designs by local artists, skateboard store Focus has teamed up with Edinburgh painter and

■ Finally, gents who are fed up paying for
alterations on clothes can learn how to DIY, with a series of Gentlemen’s Sewing
Classes, teaching a range of sewing skills from the basic; sewing on buttons, the intermediary; hemming trousers and
patching up holes, to the advanced;
decorative embroidery, embelishment and beading. Classes are £10 per head and run from 6.30–8.30pm every Wednesday (next one is 15th Aug) in the Flying Duck Club, places are limited to 10, on a first come first served basis. The night includes a couple of beers (or tea/coffee) as well as
the basic materials.
