GIOVANNI BATTISTA LUSIERI This year’s Edinburgh Art Festival plays host to the first ever exhibition of work by the Italian landscape painter, hitherto most notorious for arranging the shipment of the Elgin Marbles from Greece to London. Lusieri, who lived and worked in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, was considered the most skilled landscape artist of his day, painting cityscapes, ancient buildings and monuments in incredible detail, against the fashion of the day.
