Glasgow based Richard Youngs is known for his versatility, playing guitar, dulcimer, theremin or a home-made synthesiser, depending on the set. Having been on the music scene since the 80s, he’s collaborated on projects with Matthew Bower (a member of sludge- rockers, Skullflower), Neil Campbell (aka Astral Social Club) and Texan ‘outsider’ musician, Jandek. Although his avant-garde sound is predominantly instrumental, many of his more recent shows have been dominated by vocals, as heard on last year’s superb alt-folk album Amplifying Host.
