Holy Other

FOLK Music

Holy Other plays this Glasgow date ahead of the release of his first album Held, (out on 28 Aug)- the follow up to his acclaimed debut EP ‘With U’ from 2011. Mixing house with UK garage and R&B, Holy Other creates music which is melancholic, ethereal and haunting; having been largely influenced by gregorian chant. While his previous EP was about the breakdown of a relationship, his new album focuses on the confinements of one - taking the listener on an emotional ride. If you like the soulful electronica of James Blake, this might just be your bag. Stereo, Glasgow, Thu 23 Aug.

Daintees Tolbooth, Jail Wynd, 01786 274000. 8pm. £16. Now resident in Scotland, the respected Geordie songwriter performs with his band The Daintees.
