ST MARY’S MARKET Over the last year, the capital has enjoyed a pleasing boom in its markets scene, with all corners of the city hosting a colourful array of food, drink and vintage stalls. And his popular weekly market jamboree continues the trend, as an array of independents l ock to sell food, clothes, crafts and household goods. BEER & FOOD FESTIVAL

Innis & Gunn’s pop-up bar has proved a popular stomping ground since it opened earlier this summer, with special events providing an extra incentive for punters. This month welcomes drinks writer Tom Bruce-Gardyne as he guides guests through beers from hosts Innis & Gunn, as well as other Scottish brewers, including Williams Bros and Stewart Brewing, plus nibbles from local food heroes such as Macsweens and Mellis’ cheese, in what promises to be a food and drink bonanza.
