58 THE LIST 16–23 Aug 2012

EAT, SLEEPand BREATHE ROBIN BAILEY of The Vocal Orchestra, a beatboxing show created by Shlomo, loves peas, tapas and porridge, he tells The List.

What time is breakfast? Normally around 10am as we tend to have gigs that go on quite late into the evenings, but earlier brekkie in rehearsal periods.

Tea or coffee? Coffee for sure, preferably latte. Smoking or non-smoking? Non-smoking (mainly.)

Sweet or savoury snacks? Both, but sweet if given the option.

What food do you miss when you’re on tour? Pesto, pasta, salmon and peas which is probably the most consumed meal in my life. And porridge.

Who’s the best cook you know? My girlfriend’s dad, Mo.

What’s on your rider? Lots of water bottles, radio mics and patient, lovely sound men as we’re quite a challenging group to do sound checks for.

Which country/ city has the best food? Spain love that tapas vibe. Do you eat out a lot? As much as my wallet allows; my cooking is more functional than exciting.

Do you drink onstage? Well, in the current show I’m off stage for approximately 4.5 seconds so booze is not an option sadly, just quick gulps of water as and when. E4 Udderbelly, 0844 545 8252, until 27 Aug, 5.15pm, £10 (£9).
