Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight is the annual celebration of Scotland’s fantastic larder which this year takes place 1st-16th September and to celebrate its return this year, we have teamed up with The Gardener’s Cottage to give away dinner for two with matching wines.

The Gardener’s Cottage is a small, but perfectly formed new addition to Edinburgh’s vibrant dining scene. Situated in Royal Terrace Gardens, just off London Road, the B-listed gardener’s cottage was designed by William Playfair and constructed in 1836. Chef duo Ed Murray and Dale Mailley are both committed to local sourcing and are making the most of the restaurant’s surrounding garden by growing their own fruit, vegetables and herbs. The menu changes daily, with a set dinner menu comprising up to 6 courses for £25. The chefs also make as much as they can in the open-plan kitchen, coming up with clever combinations such as meadowsweet ice-cream and brandade made with hake, as well as baking daily loaves of sourdough bread.

A wide range of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight events will be taking place around the country offering a huge number of activities from in-store tastings to special events and menus. Celebrate Scotland’s fantastic food and drink at home or at any one of the great events around the country this September.
