My Shrinking Life CHOSEN BY CHRISTINE DEVANEY, CHOREOGRAPHER AT CURIOUS SEED DANCE COMPANY

‘My top choice for something to see in the next month is My Shrinking Life at The Traverse. This show is based on Alison Peebles’s own experience of dealing with MS in her adult life. The first time I saw Alison (pictured, left) perform was in the Communicado production of Mary Queen Of Scots. I remember so clearly being really captivated by her presence and energy on stage. I’m looking forward to experiencing that again. I suspect My Shrinking Life will not in any way be a self pitying or introspective show, but more likely to ask us to think in a different way, especially about autobiography within theatre.’ My Shrinking Life, Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, Tue 2 & Wed 3 Oct. See review, page 106. Christine Devaney’s The Adventures of Butterfly Boy, Brunton Theatre, Edinburgh, Thu 27 Sep, then touring. See preview, page 74.
