KATHRYN HO
Kathryn Ho is an artist and designer from Edinburgh who is currently expanding her horizons in London. She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee with a BA (Hons) in Illustration. Her current work focuses on the order and patterns fundamental to all aspects of life, as well as reflecting on the absurdities that can often occur when humans impose their own values of order upon the natural world. Entwined in this work is a keen interest in the language and contextual imagery associated with scientific study and notation. NEW Niki de Saint Phalle: The Eric and Jean Cass Gift Fri 16–Sat 17 Nov. The late Niki de Saint Phalle had an unlikely career; born into a privileged French family whose wealth was wiped out in the Depression, she became a teenage fashion model and then eloped to the USA before having a nervous breakdown and reinventing herself as creator of some of the most personal, vivid and engaging public art of the century. Collectors Eric and Jean Cass have gifted several Saint Phalle sculptures and various ephemera to the Gallery of Modern Art, as well as two oil paintings by John Bellany. ■ GLASGOW SCULPTURE STUDIOS The Whisky Bond, Dawson Street, 07582 698832.
