WINTER WARMERS A round-up of Christmas events hitting Glasgow and Edinburgh

S o, this is Christmas (ish) and like every other year, we cry, ‘But when will the lights be put up on George Square? When will the ice rinks arrive?’ Fear not, festive friends, for we at The List are duty bound to think about such things from about June every year. In Glasgow,

the official Christmas Lights switch on is Thu 15 Nov (George Square, ticket winners only). Glasgow on Ice returns with the open-air ice rink plus special film screenings and live music (Sat 24 Nov, George Square), while the delicious St Enoch Christmas Market returns with baked goods aplenty on Fri 16 Nov. Light Night in Edinburgh takes place on Thu 29 Nov (The Mound and St Andrew Square), kicking off six weeks of twinkly events in the capital with Santa’s official arrival in St Andrew Square on Sat 8 Dec.
