CHASING ICE Despite overwhelming scientific evidence, there are still many sceptics out there when it comes to talking about climate change. National Geographic photographer James Balog has been working for five years to produce a visual snapshot of the impact climate change is having on our planet. He has set up cameras in Alaska, Greenland and Iceland to continually photograph the rapidly retreating glaciers, with jaw-dropping results. This elegant and compelling documentary follows the project and is a reminder both of the beauty of the natural world and how fragile its existence is. Chasing Ice is at Filmhouse, Edinburgh from Thu 27 Dec. See review page 94.
