Other than Optimo Hogmanay at the Glue Factory, which is pretty much guaranteed to be a great night out, I would recommend setting aside the evening of Sat 19 Jan. Nice’n’Sleazy and the Art School Bar are throwing a joint all-day festival called New Projects Weekend that will focus on new music, i lm, moving image and visual art. It’s basically going to be a 12-hour party (3pm-3am) staggered between both venues. You’ll end up seeing a bunch of music you’ve never heard before that you’ll probably love (or hate!), and hopefully some great art. There is an open call coming out really soon from the Art School for anyone who wants to exhibit, so keep an eye on theartschool.co.uk if you want to be a part of it. New Projects Weekend, Nice’n’Sleazy and The Art School, Glasgow, Sat 19 Jan. The debut EP from Golden Teacher, a collaboration between Silk Cut and Dam Mantle, is set for release in mid-January through Optimo Music. Silk Cut also feature in our Hot 100 – see page 12.
