10 SUGGESTED BY HONEYBLOOD Christopher Owens

Ex-Girls man Christopher Owens is gracing Glasgow this month. It’s sad that Girls had to end, but I’m liking his solo album, Lysandre. I am happy to get over the break-up and accept this mellow, love-centric direction he is going in. He’s written some honest songs about touring in a band and falling in love. Also, I’m excited to see what his folk-ensemble consists of. I am really hoping he brings the woodwind section with him for ‘A Broken Heart’ and ‘New York City’. It’s different from what Girls gave, but if you can do something different, then do it. Christopher Owens, Broadcast, Glasgow, Tue 26 Feb. See preview, page 72, and win tickets, page 80. Honeyblood, Art School, Glasgow, Fri 22 Feb; Bloc, Glasgow, Sat 16 Mar; and Stereo, Glasgow, Thu 21 Mar, as part of Breakout Scotland, alongside Alarm Bells and Bwani Junction. See Alarm Bells preview, page 77, and win tickets, page 7.
