E nviously eyeing up this year’s Manchester International Festival programme, I don’t think I was the only one secretly wishing that it could be transplanted north
of the border. What a thrill then, to see that the Edinburgh International Festival
programme for 2013 seems to have an air of the MIF about it. The Wooster Group, Grid Iron, Patti Smith, Meredith Monk and a Shakespeare adaptation featuring two Chinese metal
bands . . . all in all we’re starting to get pretty excited about August (read more about the
line-up on page 9).
