WEB-O-SPHERE DIGITAL DISPATCHES FOR THE TECHNOPHOBIC

There was cause for amusement around List HQ when a spam-bot (utilising some rather creative spelling) carpet-bombed a selection of our online film listings, mistaking us for a dating website: ‘i saw your profile today at film.list.co.uk and my mind got rest and also became intrested in you,’ wrote faithbaby, adding, ‘i am waiting to recive your lovely reply soon, Yours Love. Miss faith please my dear contact me through my e-mail box.’ Sadly, the sensation of pleasure at having a secret admirer was short- lived when we realised Ms Baby had addressed this to any film with ‘man’ in the title we can understand A Good Man, and maybe even Grizzly Man (if that’s where your preference lies), but Momma’s Man? Solitary Man? A Serious Man? They hardly sound like a barrel of laughs, do they? And seeking romance from plain old A Single Man just reeks of desperation.

Elsewhere on the list.co.uk comments section, we witnessed the folly of someone who signed up to comment on one specific article, but later found their opinion in demand elsewhere. While a moniker like As the Fascist Word Police build their case probably seemed a forthright and powerful username for debating with our leftie-liberal music reviewers, it’s

less effective when you’re moaning about poor service at Eteaket. On the wider web, a

number of our Facebook fans showed appreciation for Thumbs & Ammo, a blog that aims to lighten up the movie-going experience by replacing guns with thumbs. And, in a rare positive example of satire being satirized, Huey Lewis

ith j fill d filled us with joy by recreating an infamous scene from American Psycho by putting Weird Al Jankovic to the axe. Watch it at bit.ly/ampsych.
