BIG BEACH BALL Festival season kicks off with mix of DJs, electronica and indie
A fter a storming debut last year we’re pleased to announce that the Big Beach Ball is back with another handpicked bou- tique festival line-up, featuring Jackmaster, Xcerts, Kevin Saunderson and more playing across indoor and outdoor stages.
Another highlight is Detroit tech-house duo Octave One (pictured). ‘The Aberdeen crowd is truly mad, insane and full of energy: we love doing our thang for them,’ they ex- plain. ‘We’ll guarantee that it’ll be intense and funky; you will dei nitely sweat.’
Miaoux Miaoux (aka Glasgow-based pro- ducer Julian Corrie) should also i t the vibe perfectly describing his output as ‘bass-heavy melodic melancholic pop music. Like a super-

computer being thrown in a lake. I’ve start- ed playing with a band and they rock. Live drums, analogue bass, waves of shimmering pressure. People are there for a good time so there won’t be any experimental epics. It’ll be short and to the point.’ Dark, bassy techno night Bigfoot’s Tea Par- ty also returns. ‘Last year was a lot of fun,’ says Chris Kelly. ‘The Beach Ballroom is a bizarre venue, it’s really cool.
