VICTORY / POSSIBILITIES Howard Barker’s plays have been described as ‘the theatre of catastrophe.’ Like many other writers of the late 20th century, he has been unflinching in his portrayal of life’s brutality. While Victory looks at the aftermath of the British Civil War, Possibilities is a series of abstract theatrical meditations.
