HITLISTED RESTAURANTS HITLISTS 2013
Last month we launched the 20th edition of our annual Eating & Drinking Guide. Covering over 900 places to eat out around Edinburgh and Glasgow, including some 140 new arrivals on the scene since this time last year, it’s by far the most respected, up-to-date and comprehensive guide to local dining around.
Each year we set out with the aim of making a fresh visit to every restaurant worth th knowing about in the two cities. This breadth of coverage, along with our 20- year experience of the scene and the fact that all venues are visited incognito by our team of experienced local reviewers means we’re very well placed to make objective choices about the eating experiences that truly stand out from the crowd. Reviewers are asked to pick out the most memorable meals from the venues they visit, and these nominations are then discussed with our editors to select Hitlists – our independent pick of the best in each section of the guide. Every venue featured over the following eight pages has been Hitlisted in this year’s edition of the guide. Look out for the highlighted reviews in the guide itself, online at food.list.co.uk and for Hitlist certii cates hanging on the walls of these restaurants and others like them around town. In our considered opinion they’re the pick of the crop in 2013.
My food is Real Food. I do not follow trends or fads. Every dish on my menus is there because I like to cook and eat it. My sushi, raviolis, mince and tatties are prepared applying the same attention to detail, fabulous standard of ingredients and passion as every other plate I serve. Desserts are lovingly crafted in my kitchen from the ice cream to the crumble. ...it’s not just fish!
