BOYCHILD AT ARIKA ‘13 Lip-syncing to pop music may not seem revolutionary, but in the hands of boychild it’s a revelation indeed. This performance explores several aspects of boychild’s identity as an artist he’s young, black and transgendered, among other things through re-appropriation of mainstream music and fashion. You’ll get three chances to see boychild perform, beginning with #untitled lipsync 1 on the opening club night, so there’s no excuse for missing this genre-bending show. It’s messy, it’s excessive and it’s glorious. Part of Episode 5: Hidden in Plain Sight, various venues, Glasgow, Fri 24–Sun 26 May.
