5 THINGS TO SEE AT . . . FUNNY IN FALKIRK 1 Felicity Ward This Aussie comic has gently crept up the comedy ladder and is now a fully fledged must-see act. And behind the joviality, she’s not afraid to tackle some of the tough stuff that’s happened in her life. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s on a double bill with the estimable Mr Will Franken. Behind The Wall, Sat 20 Jul. 2 Mark Nelson / Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III / Kai Humphries Three very different acts (a gagman, a character, an anecdotalist) but all with their eyes firmly on the funny. Behind The Wall, Thu 25 Jul. 3 Iain Stirling One of those rising stars of Scottish comedy that you keep hearing about, the lad who has gained fame from being a presenter on kids telly hangs a little looser with a show about sharing accommodation with his ladyfriend. Interesting spectacles he has these days, too. Terrace Bar, Sun 28 Jul. 4 David Baddiel It’s been a long time coming, but this is Baddiel’s first full stand-up show since 1998. Expect lots of tales of what he’s been up to for the past 15 years. Falkirk Town Hall, Mon 29 Jul. 5 Dylan Moran One of the true greats of the modern stand-up scene, a new Moran show is a genuine delight. Expect lots of stirring whimsy and surrealist- tinged rage at the world. Falkirk Town Hall, Tue 30 Jul. (Brian Donaldson) funnyinfalkirk.co.uk
