The Flyting 30 Nov 2013, City Chambers, Edinburgh

In the glittering court of James IV, two poets squared up to take the other guy out in verse. In rhetoric, verse and crudeness William Dunbar and Walter Kennedy took each other apart. For the third year, we are bringing that incredible battle of the stanzas back in a new home, the fabulous surroundings of the City Chambers. And this year, 16th century rapper Walter Kennedy, becomes time traveller, as he comes face to face with 21st century novelist AL Kennedy, the flyters fancy and a woman not likely to spare the invective.

Andrew Carnegie Day on Monday 25 November takes us to Dunfermline for a day of celebrating the great entrepreneur and philanthropist. Get active and discover with 3 weeks of guided walks, bus and even cycle tours. Graveyards, dungeons, homes, castles, streets and alleyways to explore.
