Academy of St Martin in the Fields The Usher Hall’s

impressive visiting-orchestra series starts off 2014 with the chamber orchestra made famous under its founding conductor, Sir Neville Marriner. They come to Scotland with music director, superstar violinist Joshua Bell, as part of a European tour that starts in Istanbul and finishes in Dublin. Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Mon 20 Jan.

Dunedin Consort: Handel’s Messiah Always

a highlight in the run-up to Christmas, the award-winning Dunedin Consort’s performance of Messiah is one not to be missed.
