BIG WHEEL One of many changes made to Edinburgh’s Christmas festivities this year is the introduction of the new and improved Big Wheel. Aside from the increased height (42m up from 32m) and the 36 weatherproof pods (which will also include a voiceover giving info on visible landmarks), the new wheel also offers unrivalled views of Edinburgh Castle and the Old and New Towns thanks to its new east-west (instead of north-south) alignment.
