Fighting against the fallacy that ‘women aren’t funny’, photographer Jessica McDermott has assembled a book of
portraits and interviews from some of the female comedians present at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Among the subjects are (clockwise from top left) Catriona Knox, Diane Spencer, Tanyalee Davis and
Jenny Eclair, all of whom discuss their shows and the wider issue of gender in
the world of stand-up comedy.
