WEB-O-SPHERE DIGITAL DESPATCHES FOR THE TECHNOPHOBIC

We’ve been scouring the comments on list.co.uk for our brand new YouReview feature (see below), and have spotted a few points of interest. Site user Michelle lavished a four-star rating on so-so animated sequel Rio 2, but didn’t feel it merited more written praise than a curt, ‘Good’. At the other end of the scale, Anne ditched the star ratings and let her words do the talking. ‘The last thing you want is pubic hair in your salad,’ she rightly exclaimed in her feedback of a certain salad bar but Anne, if you don’t put a star-rating on your post, how will we know what you really think? Our favourite bit of feedback,

though, came from Linda, who used list.co.uk not as an arena for critical discussion, but to leave a faux-polite, pre-emptive passive aggressive note ahead of an organised motorcycle gathering. ‘Please may you make sure all your wonderful bikers are aware that residents that live within hearing distance of the beautiful showground. Love the colourful bikes, beauties.

C Colourful characters welcome t too. NOT welcome after 23.55, a r reasonable time when the residents a are asleep, ready to work the next d day making your stay enjoyable . . . The worst thing: rattling the over- 70s’ windows that’s someone's granny. We, the residents of these flats/houses, do NOT go waken granny after 11.55pm. Please respect Kelso, thank you. Scooter people did do the above on 23–25 May this year. We have not had this bother before by your good selves. We would just like you to know you are better than them and we welcome YOU. THANKS.’ Nothing says ‘welcome’ like an all- caps ‘THANKS’.

I tried Singl end as the List review was interesting and I was not disappointed at all! Antipasti was so beautiful and creative . . . It wasn't very welcoming from the street level but the inside

actual coconuts. The gelato is creamy, there's always a wide but changing selection and it's reasonably priced. We've travelled around Italy eating gelato and this would be a good place even there; for Edinburgh it's incredible. Comment posted by Mike McQuaid on list.co.uk
