BIG PICTURE

INGRID BERGMAN Had she not died in 1982, the great Ingrid Bergman would have been 100 years young this year. As good a reason as any, then, for the Glasgow Film Festival to hail this actress and icon who was many things to various people: as the conflicted Ilsa in Casablanca who had a knack for walking into the wrong gin joint; the star who lit up a series of Hitchcock films; or a woman of substance who played historical figures such as Golda Meir and Joan of Arc. The GFF pays tribute by screening classics such as Notorious, For Whom the Bell Tolls and Gaslight, while a talk and exhibition go deeper into her legacy. Various venues, Glasgow.
