LAUREN PATTISON Newcastle’s Pattison is a rising star on the comedy scene, having been runner-up in 2014’s Funny Women competition and a i nalist in 2015’s Chortle Student Comedy Awards. She will be previewing her debut hour at ESAF, hoping to turn a work in progress into a fully-realised show. ■ Scottish Storytelling Centre, Sun 12 Feb, 9pm.
PLATFORM: CONTEMPORARY VOICES An exhibition that doesn’t shy away from controversy or conl ict, Platform offers a space for artists to explore the issues and questions that mould contemporary society, from the migrant crisis in Europe to mental health taboos. Zsói a Forrás, Matthew Poland and DJ Ross Devlin will perform at the opening night. ■ Biscuit Factory, Wed 15 Feb, 7pm. LOU MCLEAN Singer-songwriter Lou McLean will bring her brand of wistful Riot Grrrl pop to ESAF. Come and hear songs from her highly-praised debut EP September
EVERING // GLASSMASTERER // ARCHIPELAGO // PUBLISHER Acoustic duo Evering will be joined by Edinburgh producer Glassmasterer, experimental jazz /punk three-piece Archipelago and versatile live performer Publisher for an evening of music at the Biscuit Factory. NARRATIVE ILLUSTRATION: RESHAPE REALITY Boris Lee will lead a workshop on how varying viewpoints can inl uence how we see the world. Experiment with your own outlook and see how others interpret the world around us. FistyMuffs are a feminist quartet that use original material to discuss pertinent political and social issues. From emotional abuse to unwanted groping, the band’s songs rel ect their own personal experiences, adding power to their performance. ■ Scottish Storytelling Centre, Sun 19 Feb, 7.15pm.
REAL TALK STORYTELLING Real Talk, founded by Lily Asch, allows for the discussion of mental health in an open and safe environment, through storytelling.
