Seven days of celluloid heaven

MY SUMMER OF LOVE

An adolescent friendship divided by class and religion in the heat of a Yorkshire summer.

In 2000 Pawel Pawlikowski delivered up a remarkable film called The Last Resort (2000). Many thought this former documentary filmmaker didn’t have it in him to produce something that lyrical, beautiful or memorable again, but his new film is all those things and more. This dreamy work Investigates how the relationship between working class teenager Mona (Nathalie Press) and posh girl Tamsin (Emily Blunt) is slowly overshadowed by Mona’s weird fundamentalist Christian brother Phil (Paddy Considine).
