TRAVELLING FDLK

A number oitaiented English musicians are touring the folk clubs in Scotland this month. Keith Hancock. meiodeon player and powerful singer returns to Edinburgh Folk Club on Wednesday 15, and plays the Washington Arts Centre on Friday 17 courtesy oi the TMSA. as part oi a series 01 concerts there.

Also about the clubs are the House Band. a band born in Edinburgh. but now an entirely English trio, oi Ged Foley. erstwhile Battlefield guitarist. Chris Parkinson, extremely giited meiodeon and keyboard player. well known in the north oi England ior his work with many diiierent combinations and dance bands and John Skelton. a

line ilute player from London. The House Band are in Penicuik on Tuesday 14 and Glasgow on Wednesday 15. L'Attache, a venue which is doing much to keep music live in Edinburgh, with iolk bands lrom Sunday to Thursday every week. (and no admission charge). has made a cassette for charity. It was recorded live at L'Attache a iew Sundays ago. taking a couple 01 tracks each from Seannachie. Muckle Ado, North Sea Gas. Kingdom. Ceolbeg. Miro. the Allan Johnston Band. Absent Friends. and Rod Peterson. The artists and the recording crew gave thelrtime and talents tree. The proceeds will go to the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion.
