I Scottish K1 Marathon Championships River Tay, Dunkeld—Perth. Noon. Twenty-three miles on your own, in a canoe, down the Tay is no mere paddle, particularly when the river is far from in spate. The low water-level provides a real danger of grounding while the weaker flow means more elbow grease than normal is required to complete the course.
