Little Shop of Horrors (PG) Life takes an exciting turn for a bored, loveless young

The Inflatable Man waits for the ScoHish lntemational Children's Festival.

If you were among the 20,000 who last year attended the first Scottish International Children’s Festival at lnverleith Park, Edinburgh, you’ll be glad to know that there’s another one this year-dates for your diary are 28 May-2 June. Already there are bookings from over 115 schools, but as before there’s heaps of entertainment after school hours and at the weekend

so there's no excuse for missing out on

i the fun.

There’s a strong international Input with music, dance, theatre, puppetry and mime from Argentina, Denmark and the USA complementing companies from Scotland and England. Free on-site entertainment has been extended ongoing stage and music shows, more face-painting facilities, three bouncy castles, an environmental quiz and leader-led organised games.

Add to the list return visits from the ever-popular Mr Boom, the zany Clown Jewels (hoping that rain won't stop play this year), the Passport Office and the City Libraries’ Tent, and you will see there’s something for everyone to enjoy between shows. More good news is that the organisers haven’t heard of inflation (unlike vaudeville American artiste Fred Garbo, pictured above). At 22 a head, ticket prices remain the same as in 1990. (Rene Taylor) Festival brochures are available from The Scottish lntemational Children's Festival, 22 Laurie Street, Edinburgh. Box Office 031 553 7700.
