I Many Happy Returns Glasgow‘s Crash (Fridays at The Cotton Club) clebrates its third birthday on 22 Nov. The long- running indie/dance club will be popping the champagne corks with the help of ‘two well-known Glasgow bands‘ spies suggest they may well be The Silencers and The Pearlfishers. but don‘t tell them we said so. The first 100 people through the door will receive a free pint of Tennents while everyone else can look out for freebies like T-shirts. badges and hairdressing vouchers. Licensed until 4am (probably). it is being billed as the first 'semi-allnighter’. Here‘s to the next three years.

I Underground Clubbing It you read last week‘s Clubs preview you may be wondering about the new venues rumoured to be openingin Edinburgh. Well. wonder no more. Although details are understandably sketchy. The Vaults. for that is its name. will be openingin the very near future. Housed in a labyrinth of underground chambers close to Niddry Street. those in the know expect a number ofone-offevents before Christmas and the opening ofa cafe even sooner. With almost limitless space available. plans to eventually incorporate offices for the city‘s media industry and even a recording studio. it is an exciting prospect to say the least. Watch this space for further details.

I Big Bands The Tunnel continues to look like the only place to go on the west coast on a Sunday if top dance combos are your cup of tea. On 24 Nov Oceanic. of Insanity fame. play a set while the following week‘s appearance from Transglobal Underground is unmissable. the band‘s Templehead single being one of the year's highlights by a long way. Frankie Bones and Jimmy Crash complete a trio of great gigs on 8 Dec. Guest DJ on all three nightsis Larz..
