The New Look: Design in the 1950: Until 5 Apr. This major touring exhibition harking back to the revolutionary 505. a decade of design innovation sparked off by Christian Dior‘s ‘New Look‘ Collection of 1947. The show comprises furniture. lighting. ceramics and textiles from Britain and the rest ofEurope.

Derek Jarman: At Your Own Rislt Fri 14 Feb—12 Apr. The latest exhibition in Kelvingrovc's New Arts series presents a selection of J arman’s works dealing directly with his HIV status. Three-dimensional assemblages. the works combine painting with found objects - many of which were gathered from around Jarman‘s home near Dungeness Nuclear Power Station - and are bound in black ‘the colour that binds the universe'. according toJarman.

Fired Earth: 1000 Years at Ceramic Tiles Until 1 Mar. Compare and contrast European tiles with traditional Glasgow wally tiles; a selection ofcontemporary tile work will also be included. marking the recent resurgence of interest in tiles— they are now increasingly used in the refurbishment of housing schemes. English Etchers Until 12 Apr. An exploration of the variety oftalent that came to light after the foundation ofthe Royal Society of Painter-Etchers in 1880. including works by Graham Sutherland. Frank Mason and C R W Nevinson.
