Postponed from a fortnight ago. this gig from ex-Long Ryder now proffers a journey through American roots music with his group The Coalporters. Support comes from the more pristine local pop merchants Murmur. I The Fourmost Mayfair. Sauchiehall Street. 332 3872. 9.30pm. £5. The Mayfair are enhancing their pseudo- ballroom feel with some 60s nostalgia. as a series of old lags hit the reunion circuit. This lot were responsible for such delights as ‘1’m in Love‘. ‘A Little Love’. ‘Babyl Need Your Loving' and ‘All Our Songs Have Got “Love” In The Title‘. I 999 Nice’n’Sleazy. Sauchiehall Street. 333 9637. Punk dregs return like an imitating rash. but as no one especially cared first time round this is marginally less sad than The Kinks' current round of appearances.
