Donald the horse stars on Sun 23, pulling the barge (pictured above) from Maryhill Locks with a live hand, there are bike hikes on both Saturdays from Applecross Basin, a teddy bears picnic will be held on Mon 17 at Maryhill locks and an industrial tour by barge leaves Spiers Wharf on Wed 19 (phone to book a place).

The gardens are notable as they \v ere r't-plantetl in I‘Nl by Louise Wall using only plants grown in Scotland dtrring the l7th century. Plant lovers will be particularly interested to see several old varieties of rose. Plants will be on sale during the day. including the old White .‘vlelrose apple which vv as cultivated by the monks at Melrose Abbey in the Middle Ages. There will also be displays of Ilovv er paintings by Marjorie [you and sculptures by Jake Harvey.

On Wednesday the Colour Httssittg and installation of the Kelso l.addie takes place iii the Kelso Square at 7pm. with a torchlit procession leaving Mayftelds at Ilpm to arrive at The Cobby for a firework display at ll.15pm. On Saturday 22 there will be entertainment in the Square from the High Tension Road Show. starting at Ham and clearing tip in time for the l.addies return from the main rideotrt at 4.30pm.
