Carol Kidd and the File Youth Jazz Orchestra headline in a one—off concert at the Carnegie Hall (01383 720108. 7.30pm. £750 (£40. btlt the Festival as a whole has taken a different direction this year in the remainder of the venues. The programming logic has been to go for bigger rather than better (which. given the limitations of the ptlb and hotel venues. is probably wise). and there is a much stronger emphasis on blues and on free events. with ticket prices held down to £3 on the ones where you do need to pay. The musicians are all Scottish-based. and there are no big names other than Carol this year. bill with over twenty venues. there is no shortage of choice. and there are also satellite gigs at venues ill Crossl'ord. Rosylh. North Queensferry. Kingseat. lnverkeithing. Hill of Beath and Cowdenbeath.
