STOCKAREE! is the community play about Stockbridge — the closest thing
Edinburgh has to a bohemian quarter. Written by Colin Mortimer, the show covers 50 years and three generations, taking in the post~war years, the slum clearances of the 605, the acid trips of the hippies and the upmarket influence of the yuppies in the 805 and 905. The project began about eighteen months ago with reminiscence group work among Stockbridge's elderly
community, and has grown to include over 60 local performers. Audiences at Theatre Workshop, Stockbridge’s centre for the arts, are promised a gripping and funny drama ‘of dreams, hopes and shattered lives.’
