Lillie Art Gallery £16,770 - £18,609 + weekend enhancement

Located t0 the North of Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire Council are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Art Curator to run the Lillie Art Gallery, Milngavie, as part of the Council's Museum Service. The Lillie has a programme of changing exhibitions which includes work from its own important collection of 20th Century Scottish Art.

Liaising with the Museums Manager you will be responsible for establishing and promoting an imaginative and high quality exhibition programme and managing the gallery on a day to day basis.

You should hold a relevant degree and preferably be in possession of, or be working towards, a post graduate museums qualification, and have several years museum experience. A demonstrable knowledge of Scottish Art is essential.

National Museums of Scotland Applications are invited for this new post, based at the Museum of Flight. East Fortune Airfield. East Lothian. This is a fixed term appomtment until 31 August 2000. The salary range is between £16,421 and £24,700 (pro rata to 4 days per week). It is likely that salary on appointment Will be between £16.421 and £18,400 depending on qualifications and experience.

Millennium Festival of Flight

Co-ordinator

Established in 1997. the Festival of Flight air show is already one of Scotland's most successful annual events. The 1999 Festival Will be attended by the Red Arrows and 20 other aircraft displays, and is expected to draw up to 40.000 yiSitors to the Museum of Flight. A further excmng development of the Festival { Will take place in the summer of 2000. ASSisted by a grant from the Scottish Millennium Festival Fund. the event will expand from its current weekend format to a more diverse and innovative programme of workshops, lectures, films and outreaCh actiwties over a nine day period.

A lively and enthusrastic indiVidual is requued to play a key role in the expanSion of the Festival of Flight. The postholder Will have a high degree of involvement in all aspects of the Festival. With particular responsrbility for coordinating the entire programme of speCial events and outreach activities. Substantial experience of events organisation is requued.

as part of a team.
