Tributes, tributes, tributes - if these people didn’t die, the musical makers would be forced to kill them off. To be fair, this is one of the better ones, and if you’re a fan of the film then this singalong with Jake and Elwood makes for a good night out.

Scoitish International Storytelling Festival Until Fri 12 Nov. See City Life. Farewell Miss Julie Logan Mon 15-Sat 20 Nov. 7.30pm. £5 (£3.50). The final work of J. M. Barrie gets its first stage adaptation in the hands of the Scottish Actors Initiative. Cut off from the outside world by a snowdrift, the occupants of a secluded glen begin to unravel the mystery of the visiting strangers, including the entrancing Julie Logan.

Phantom Of The Opera Until Sun 19 Dec (not Mon). 7.30pm (Wed, Sat & Sun mat 2.30pm). £7—£32.50. One of Lloyd Webber’s earlier musical offerings, and the show that brought Sarah Brightman to the nation’s attention, but you can’t hold that against it. The odd spectacular effect keeps the attention gripped and the presence of songs such as Music Of The Night and the eponymous Phantom Of The Opera ensure this opera house romp continues to pull in the crowds.

Designers from the Royal National Theatre lend Kenny Ireland a hand for this new production by the in-house company. Focusing on the struggle for power in a divided Scotland, Shakespeare’s “Scottish’ play has taken on a whole new resonance.

Josef Tue 16 Nov. 7.30pm. £2 (£1). Tom McGrath presents a performed reading of this new play by Raymond Ross, which follows a Polish immigrant living in Edinburgh.
