LIBERTY BELLES
Presumed lost but rediscovered in his attic. a taped. live recording of the legendary 1978 traditional music concert by Paul Brady in Dublin's Liberty Hall, finally made it on to CD late last year — an album that captures the sheer magnificence of the musicians who pushed through the period's great lrish renaissance.
Liam O'Flynn on uillean pipes. with Donal Lunny and Andy Irvine on frets (all from Brady's Planxty souj0urn) and the stratospheric skills of fiddler Paddy Glackin, flute player Matt Molloy. and concertina virtuoso Noel Hill are the foils for Brady‘s highly developed vocal skill and phrasing - not to mention his
astonishing ability on a rake of instruments. Twenty-odd years later. and missing only the flute player. the guys join Brady for the outstanding concert of Celtic Connections. But be advised: the tickets are costly — even if the music is priceless.

harp.
